Find answers to the most common questions about pest control in Central Texas by BugOff Pest & Wildlife’s
Q: What does your general pest control service include?
A: Our general pest control covers common household pests such as ants (excluding fire ants), spiders (interior only), and crickets, earwigs, silverfish, scorpions, crickets, millipedes and centipedes, and pillbugs. Treatments include the inside of the home, porches, and around the exterior foundation. See General Pest Control and Warranties for full disclosure.
Q: Do you use safe treatments?
A: Yes. All products we apply are registered and approved by the EPA for residential and commercial use. We us them according to label directions with your safety and comfort in mind.
Q: Can I skip winter treatments on quarterly plan?
A: No. Our quarterly pest control plan is a year-round service designed to provide consistent protection. Skipping scheduled treatments, including the winter months, reduces effectiveness and disrupts our service schedule. If a scheduled visit cannot be completed, the service will be rescheduled for next available date based on route availability. Customers who prefer fewer visits may choose one of our seasonal service packages, which are priced accordingly.
Q: Can I push my quarterly visits out to receive fewer treatments per year?
A: No. Our quarterly service is designed to provide four evenly spaced treatments per year. Delaying or pushing visits to reduce the number of services is not permitted. If you prefer fewer visits per year, we offer seasonal service packages that are structured and priced accordingly. Quarterly service requires consistent, evenly spaced visits to remain effective.
Q: Can I reschedule my service?
A: Yes. We’re happy to accommodate scheduling needs; however, service may only be rescheduled for a combined total of 30 days per calendar year.
Q: Can I reschedule my quarterly service multiple times to delay treatment?
A: No. While we understand occasional scheduling conflicts, repeatedly rescheduling a service to delay treatment is not permitted on our quarterly plan. Multiple consecutives reschedule may result in service being scheduled for the next available date or the account being reviewed and moved to seasonal service package.
Q: When is payment due for pest control services?
A: Payment is due at the time service is completed.
Q: Why is there a convenience fee on my payment?
A: Convenience fees help offset the costs associated with processing electronic payments, including software, security, and administrative handling. These fees allow us to continue offering convenient payment options while keeping our service pricing competitive. We accept Venmo, Zelle, Check, Cash and ACH with no convenience fees.
Q: Are wasps covered under your warranty?
A: No, wasps are not warrantied because they are flying insects that can rebuild nests quickly. However, if wasps or nests are found during a service visit, we will treat them at no extra cost.
Q: Are spiders covered?
A: Yes – interior spiders are covered under general pest control. Exterior spiders are not warrantied, but we will treat active areas (porches and eaves) if activity is found during your service.
Q: Do you cover ants in flower beds, driveways, or the yard?
A: No. Ants found in moisture-prone areas like flower beds, driveways, and yards are not covered under general pest control. These areas often require a special yard or mound treatment to target the source. We will spot treat 2-3 mounds at a regular scheduled treatment.
Q: Why don’t you offer a full warranty for one-time or occasional service?
A: Our products are designed to last up to 90 days under normal conditions. After that, sun, rain, and cleaning can reduce effectiveness. For this reason, only quarterly or more frequent services qualify for full warranty.
Q: Can I get a 90-day guarantee with a one-time treatment?
A: No. Because one-time pest control services are designed to address a current pest issue and provide short-term relief. Because pest pressure is ongoing and can return quickly, we can only warranty one-time treatments for up to 30 days.

Q: How do your mosquito treatments work?
A: We use EPA- registered products applied with misting equipment to target areas where mosquitoes rest, breed, and hide, such as, under decks, shrubs, shaded areas, and foliage. Treatments work to knock down active mosquitoes and create a barrier to prevent new ones.
Q: How often should I treat for mosquitoes?
A: For the best results, we recommend monthly treatments during mosquito season (typically March through October in Texas). Frequency can vary based on rainfall, property layout, and mosquito activity.

A: We primarily target adult mosquitoes.
Q: What is In2Care and how does it work?
A: In2Care is an innovative larvae-targeting system that uses specially designed stations to attract female mosquitoes. When they land, they pick up a bioactive agent and carry it to nearby breeding sites. This helps to kill mosquito larvae in standing water, even in places you can’t see or reach. In2Care products are available at an additional charge and are an excellent long-term, low impact solution when paired with regular treatments.

A: Wildlife control typically does not come with a standard warranty, since re-entry is possible from new areas or different animals. However, warranties may be available for exclusion work with a few exceptions.

A: Common signs include:
- Scratching or thumping sounds, especially at night
- Foul odors (from urine, feces, or a dead animal)
- Droppings or nesting materials in the attic or crawl space
- Chewed wires, insulation, or ductwork
- Damaged soffits, vents, or rooflines.
Q: Are wildlife issues covered under general pest control?
A: No. Wildlife services are not part of general pest control. These animals require specialized traps, exclusion techniques, and equipment which are billed separately as a custom service.
